Commissioning Support ProgrammeThe Commissioning Support Programme A consortium of five partner organisations, the Office for Public Management (OPM), Boxwood, the Institute of Public Care at Oxford Brookes University (IPC), PIPC (UK) Limited and The Reform Programme, along with its technology partner Reading Room, is delivering the Commissioning Support Programme. The consortium was brought together to respond comprehensively to the needs of commissioners in the field. The consortium is working in an integrated way to deliver a programme that is sector-led and which will build sustainable capacity in Children’s Trusts. The consortium brings together understanding of the commissioning process, skills in facilitating complex change programmes, knowledge of the policy context and understanding of the challenges commissioner’s face. The consortium was appointed by the Programme’s sponsors, the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and Department for Health (DH) following a competitive dialogue process and evaluation of three shortlisted bidders. The Programme reports directly to these sponsors. Working with stakeholders The Programme will work with Children’s Trusts and other stakeholders to create a community of practice for Children’s Trusts that will facilitate shared learning, sharing of good practice and joint problem-solving. Working together in this way, and through direct support to individual Trusts, will enable an improvement of commissioning practice across the country – building on the best of what Children’s Trusts are already doing.
