Using mortality and population data from 2001 to 2007, area profiles were generated showing trends in mortality rates and life expectancy by deprivation groups in East of England top-tier authorities and PCTs.
The profile file includes data and charts for person, males and females; for all age, all cause mortality, premature (under 75) mortality from: all causes, cancer, circ.disease; smoking-attributable mortality and life expectancy; for the most deprived fifth, the least deprived fifth, for all but the most deprived fifth (80%), the areas as a whole and the region. Three years worth of data are pooled. Relative and absolute gaps for the listed indicators are calculated and tested for their statistical significance.
